Gorell Vinyl Windows Gain Green Seal™ Certification
Gorell Vinyl Windows Gain Green Seal™ Certification

INDIANA, Pa., Dec. 16, 2008 – Gorell Windows & Doors LLC has received Green Seal™ certification for its five models of double-hung replacement vinyl windows.

Gorell's windows were certified only after rigorous testing and evaluation, including an on-site plant inspection. Criteria such as performance ratings, product packaging and labeling, and manufacturing and testing procedures all played a role in the certification process.

Remarked Ty Schwartz, vice president of sales and marketing, "Gorell Windows & Doors is proud to be the first vinyl replacement window manufacturer to have its windows become Green Seal certified."

Founded in 1989, Green Seal™ develops environmental certification standards for a wide variety of products and services, including paints and coatings, paper products, cleaning products and services, food preparation and food service packaging, and hotels and lodging properties. As stated on Green Seal's web site, "Our industry knowledge and standards help manufacturers, purchasers, and end users alike make responsible choices that positively impact business behavior and improve quality of life."

Schwartz continued, "Vinyl should be considered 'green' because of its life cycle -- its ability to be recycled, its energy efficiency, and its efficient manufacturing costs and processes. Vinyl windows also offer the added benefit of high-performance glass, thus increasing their ability to be friendlier to the environment."

In addition to its vinyl replacement windows, Gorell also manufactures vinyl patio doors and vinyl hurricane impact windows which the company cites as cost-saving and energy efficient, easy to operate and clean, requiring practically no maintenance, and lasting and looking great for decades.
